I’m December, the photographer behind December Rose Photography, and I specialize in motherhood, maternity, newborn, and family photography here in the Lafayette, Indiana area.
For a long time, photography was about capturing “perfect” smiles and getting everyone to look at the camera. But the older I get, and especially after becoming a mom myself, the more I’ve realized the photos that matter most are usually the ones that feel like something.
The way your child reaches for your hand without thinking.
The tiny details you swear you’ll never forget.
The way your baby fits perfectly against your chest.
The laugh your family shares in between the posed moments.
Those are the things I want to preserve for you.
My goal is never just to give you digital files sitting on a phone somewhere. I want to create photographs that become part of your home and part of your family’s story. The kind your children grow up seeing on the walls. The kind they flip through years from now in albums worn soft from being loved.
I know being in front of the camera can feel stressful. A lot of moms worry about outfits, whether their kids will behave, or if they’ll feel awkward during the session. That’s exactly why I’ve built my experience to be full-service and relaxed from beginning to end.
From planning your session and helping with wardrobe, to guiding you naturally during the session itself, to designing artwork for your home afterward, I’m here to help every step of the way.
